We have currently reached a level at our Squadron where a decision was made to split the squadron starting in the 2026-2027 training year. What does this mean? We will be offering training on Monday and Friday evenings with dedicated staff for each evening. The Monday satellite squadron will parade as 199 St Vital at the Winnipeg South Osborne Legion until they receive their new Squadron number and name, at which point they will become their own entity. The main 199 St Vital squadron will continue to parade on Friday at Lord Roberts School beginning in October (due to permitting, the Friday group will be at different locations in September)

This is a exciting decision that we have had to make and takes into consideration different factors so that we can continue to provide a quality youth program.

If you still wish to become a cadet with 199, please complete an Online application through the National Online Registration Tool starting July 1 and you will be placed on our wait list. You will receive an followup email from 199air@cadets.gc.ca asking which evening (Monday or Friday) is suitable for you. Please note that that each evening will only be able to accept a limited number of new registrations. 

If circumstances change and either Monday or Friday are no longer suitable for your schedule, your waitlisted application will be available to the other corps/squadrons should you choose to try one of them. You do not need to reapply should you choose to try a different unit.
