Cadet Activities Update

posted Oct 28, 2014, 7:06 PM by 199 St Vital RCACS

We are pleased to announce that all Cadet activities will be continuing effective immediately.  We will be resuming our regular parade night and all optional activities as of this Thursday, 30 October 2014.

In light of recent events we have received the following direction regarding uniforms:

  • Cadets will be allowed to wear their uniforms to and from home to Cadet activities and during all supervised events;
  • While in uniform Cadets will not stop to partake in other unrelated activities; and
  • Cadets shall not wear their uniforms for other than officially sanctioned activities.

Cadets are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to unit staff or to the appropriate authorities if they are away from the Cadet program.

No Cadets will be asked to participate in any activity if they, their parents or the leadership within the CCO are uncomfortable or feel unsafe.  Should any member have concerns we would encourage them to speak with any of the staff who will work to address their concerns or refer them to the appropriate resources.

Staff at the Regional and National levels are continuing to monitor the situation while advice and direction will be provided to unit staff.  The safety and security of our Cadets remains the top priority of staff at all levels.  Updates from the National level can be found at

Thank you
